Soaked in eternal sunshine and encircled by abundant seas, Sicily is a culinary destination one shouldn’t miss. And this month at The Mistral, the flavors of Sicily come to life with its Sicilian Affair. Culinary delights created by no less than its Sicilian-born Claudio Dieli, the food promotion is as close to Sicily as one can get, minus the jet ride.

“Food is central to Sicilian life and the passion we put into every dish is romance in itself,” says Chef Claudio.

Using only the freshest ingredients from Italy, Chef Claudio whips up a spring and summer menu with light, healthy appetizers and a hearty treatment of meat and game. For a starter, the Pan Fried Mozzarella “carrozza” style with Semi-dry Tomato, Rocket and Balsamic Reduction is simple but delightful. For the pasta dish, the Homemade Ravioli with Ricotta Cheese and Eggplant with Cherry Tomato Sauces is a fitting seque to the melt-in-your mouth main course of Rolled Swordfish Gratin with Mozzarella Cheese and Anchovies.

Sicily's rich desserts and pastries are treasured the world over and sweets such as tubes of creamy ricotta and sugar or Cannoli are popular. At The Mistral, Chef Claudio pays tribute to the citrus fruits, which grow abundantly in Sicily, with his melt-in-your-mouth La Torta Al Limone Bruciata.
